Extended strawberry season at the farmers market – sssweeeet!

strawberries_torrance FMSorry for the late pix – Fresh strawberries at the Torrance Farmers’ Market on Saturday are totally divine~ AND super cheap AT $5.00/FLAT!!!  Get them while they’re in season (they’re so sweet and tender, just melt right in your mouth).  Toss sliced strawberries with a splash of good balsamic vinegar and chopped mint and it’s the ultimate refreshing dessert for hot summer~    Or make berries medley with strawberries, raspberries and blueberries (all in season and super sweet) and you need nothing else at all…  Or make a berries compote with strawberries and white peaches, tossed with brown sugar and lemon juice and over vanilla ice cream, ymmm…well, you get the idea~

Drumming up some ideas for the next brunch (6/28)…I think the tofu benedict is a keeper thus far and have been playing with idea of quinoa cereal, tofu scramble and some kind of a non-dairy, low-fat french toast bake?  any ideas/suggestions?
