It's SUMMER TIME! Fresh lemonade~

meyer lemons (picked from our tree)Nothing like fresh cold lemonade on a summer day~  A quick-n-easy recipe made the healthy way, not-too-sweet and very refreshing.  made with two tablespoons of love and summer kisses – enjoy!

Fresh Ginger Lemonade Recipe (made with evaporated cane juice)

1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 5-6 lemons)

2 tbsp lemon pulp (reserved from juicing lemons)

6 cups of water

3/4 cup of evaporated cane juice

1 tbsp of lemon zest

4-5 slices of fresh ginger (anti-oxidant & immune booster)

1) Boil 2 cups of water with 3/4 cup of evap cane juice.  Add lemon zest and ginger, simmer for 2 min.

2) Add lemon juice and 2 cups of water.  Turn off heat.

3) Pour liquid into pitcher, add 2 more cups of water, stir in lemon pulp and let cool.

4) Serve with ice.  ( You can also make variations by adding macerated strawberries or herbs (mint or basil).

    You might want to add some info such as why lemonade is such a good thirst quencher…some say there’s nothing better. It has to do with the sourness triggering your saliva glands, but you can do more research on it…
